Over the last few days since the new Alabama bill has been signed I have been reflecting on how or if we should speak out. This law criminalizes any abortion not found “necessary” by the state, this doesn’t even include rape or incest! It is attack on woman’s rights! The bottom line is any Law restricting abortion is obstructing their right to a pursuit of happiness and as Americans that is our birthright. I the editor and CEO of this company stand with it being a woman’s choice whether or not to have an abortion. Having a child is a monumental responsibility. I wanted to use art to speak out so I found Hysterical Men on Instagram. He or She is a political street artist from Philadelphia and I have been admiring their work on the other side of the country. I want your to read the following from the artist and look at the image for yourself.

“I see the drawing as being representative of white hetero-normative patriarchy which looks to control female bodies and reproduction at all costs. It’s important to remember that technically abortion is still legal in all 50 states and that these laws will be challenged in court.

The problem is that the supreme court is now packed with extremist anti-choice extremists (Kavanaugh)
It is not lost on me that the punishment for an abortion provider, were some of these laws to go into effect, would be far more severe than for rape.”

They have made this law so extreme that it inevitably will be take to the supreme court to possibly overturn Roe V. Wade (the supreme court case that ruled anti abortion laws unconstitutional). This would be a serious loss for human rights. I think the picture represents the same type of people making decisions that appear to be for the “moral” good but actually are working with an evil agenda. I am a christian and I know that my beliefs have no business in my politics because my right to worship is the same as everyone else’s. There needs to be a separation of church and state if we want to progress the human race. I think this law isn’t about protecting baby’s its about controlling women. Women have always needed abortions but now the women of Alabama, Georgia, and Missouri are going to have to take steps back from the modern world. What sad times.
