Donald Trump is a pig in every sense of the word but he was elected by the democratic system that holds this country together. Trump’s personal life in the spotlight has made his poor choices magnified but this loud mouth does himself no favors either. His legitimacy is questioned but in this time of discontent we must have faith in this whole thing working itself out. Since Donald Trump’s election two and a half years ago a lot has changed. I ask myself regularly now “what the fuck is going on?” It’s almost as if we have become so used to this bullshit that the government stuffs down our throat that we turn away just so we don’t have to taste it. The biggest gripe I have with the current administration is the blatant lies. To quote Micheal Corleon “Don’t lie to me because it questions my intelligence, it makes me very angry.” This rings so true. I have been shying away from the possible backlash from writing a political piece but enough is enough. Here are three ways the country has changed since Trump has taken office.

1.) White Nationalism has serious chance to make another prominent foothold back into our government.

Our Country was founded on the principals of being a haven for religious freedom and liberty from corrupt aristocracies. Though that was originally made to favor white males the system we created and the wording of the Constitution helped work itself out. Since the Civil Rights movement of the 1960’s we are still cleaning up old policy and trying to right our Country’s wrongs but it so fucking complicated in so many ways. Since Charlottesville the White Nationalist Movement created its biggest foothold in years by the simple fact the President did not condemn the actions of the violent agitators by famously stating “their were bad people on both sides”. It was a layup for him as a politician but he suspiciously chose to stay silent. Why?

He continues to demonize a group of people who are displaced by corruption and violence in Central America. This feeds his base which has made its racism blatant at times at rallies and marches. The White Nationalist Movement has viewed his election as a rally cry to their “suffrage”. They have said they will bring violence and followed through. Most recently the shooting at the Chabad of Poway has shaken my local San Diego community to the core. I am Hispanic but I still fear for my Jewish family and friends.

No one should ever have to fear for their life in their place of worship to their higher power, whatever it may be.

The Trump Administration needs to do a better job of condemning these actions by acknowledging the that the White National Movement is a terror cell. They need to be ripped out from the roots. The problem is a lot of those roots are in place of office creating policy that disadvantages non-whites in states that want to preserve that part of their “history”. We can’t fix that in any other way than voting them out and creating awareness to the ones trying to get into office. This mindset has no place in our Government while creating policy that effects all people.

2.) The media has completely delegitimized itself.

Fox News is a propaganda machine. They have bowed to almighty Emperor Trump King of Kings. To them he can do no wrong and they help supplement his lies by using it’s media platform to back his bullshit. They also use their channel and website to stoke racism in the American tenderloin for the simple reasoning of it selling. The saddest part is people love it to be honest. Ratings will always be king. Lets face it CNN does the same thing except crying racism at every turn it gets. It’s exhausting, they need to do a better job of sticking to the facts even if Fox operates and a completely baseless throne of bullshit. You can’t let that give you a reason to completely fly off the rockers anytime a troll gives you bait.

They have made their channel more about Trump and the Russia investigation when they need to look inward and see why the Democratic Party is imploding before our eyes. Their smug assumptions that they operate on a moral compass that conservatives wouldn’t understand is sickening. Your gentrified politics only look to help the poor and meek when the camera is on. It’s fitting because his mirrors the same policy of the Democratic party for the last two decades. Now that all these networks do is bicker over each other the everyday American doesn’t know who to trust and will often call “Fake News”. This can lead to the possibility of believing radical conspiracy theories and using drastic measures to find means that don’t base themselves in reality.

3.) The Internet is our new King.

The Obama campaign used Facebook and street art to become elected and gave Trump the blueprint to become president by using the new lifeblood of the American People, The Internet. He used twitter like no one in politics had done yet to that scale. He was a the first President to speak his mind to the world on his terms, and no one else. Their Campaign spread propaganda and misinformation to satisfy it’s base with the reasoning behind his radical tactics and policy. Anytime you read anything you have to “google it” to make sure it’s true. But what happens now that all these platforms are picking and choosing what needs to be censored on theses searches?

The Internet has created this alternate reality that can be controlled and now the biggest question is who controls it? We can go on and on about net neutrality but we all have surrendered a piece of our freedom and privacy our ancestors have never had to give up. How far will it go now that we are all addicted to our phones and these fake kingdoms we have built for ourselves? In other counties like China the Government uses it’s control to patrol the internet to only reflect history and news that paints them in a good light. Are we so far off to where this couldn’t happen here before our eyes? Could this fake reality be twisted so hard that it can effect real world outcomes?  Or is that a question that has already been answered?
